Earn ACSI-Recognized CEUs Through Cornerstone Courses

Hagerstown, MD – Cornerstone for Women Leaders, a women-led nonprofit organization based in Hagerstown, Maryland, offers ACSI-recognized Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for Christian school educators and administrators. In partnership with Hagerstown Community College (HCC), a local academic institution accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, Cornerstone provides a distinctive professional development model that integrates biblical principles with high-quality leadership and instructional training.

Christian schools carry a dual responsibility: ensuring teachers remain current in academic best practices while also nurturing their growth as Christian educators. Accrediting bodies, including the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), require evidence of both. Cornerstone’s programs hosted on campus at HCC directly address these requirements, giving schools a way to strengthen accreditation documentation while offering faculty training that helps educators’ performance in the classroom.

On the academic side, Cornerstone equips both educators and school administrators with practical, research-based training that strengthens teaching effectiveness. For schools, this means faculty are not relying solely on their initial certification or degree, but continually sharpening their practice in ways that meet accreditation expectations.
Equally significant is the spiritual formation built into Cornerstone’s training. Every course integrates a biblical worldview, equipping educators to weave faith into every subject. Character-building classes in ethics and morals prepare educators to handle discipline, conflict, and decision-making in ways that are consistent with their values. This ensures that teachers are not only growing as professionals, but also as distinctly Christian educators.

Cornerstone’s training is intentionally designed to help schools demonstrate accreditation compliance. Administrators can use certificates of completion awarded by HCC as direct evidence in self-studies and site visits. Schools can also document staff participation in leadership coaching to demonstrate that educators and administrators are receiving one-on-one support for their professional development.

Beyond meeting accreditation needs, Cornerstone responds to the common pain points Christian schools face when it comes to professional development. With tight budgets, schools need programs that offer value, and Cornerstone’s integrated model means they no longer have to purchase separate academic and spiritual trainings. Too often, schools find that generic professional development providers miss the mark, either focusing solely on instructional strategies without integrating faith, or offering faith-based formation without addressing practical classroom realities. Cornerstone’s classes, in partnership with HCC, bridges both. The training is modular and flexible, and the content is practical, high-quality, and addresses real classroom and leadership challenges. With the community college handling CEU credit, certificates, and attendance records, Cornerstone’s on-campus training removes a major administrative burden from school leaders.

While Cornerstone courses are rooted in a biblical worldview, the on-campus training does not include preaching, prayer, proselytizing, or promotion of any specific church or denomination, ensuring full compliance with state and federal guidelines.

“We understand the unique experiences of women in Christian education,” said Shadae Paul, President and CEO of Cornerstone for Women Leaders. “Through our robust on-campus training, we not only provide professional development that meets accreditation requirements, but also create a space where women educators can grow spiritually, connect with peers, and develop leadership skills that reflect God’s desire for their work.”

This combination of ACSI-recognized CEUs, faith-based formation, and women-centered leadership training represents a distinctive offering for Christian schools. By investing in Cornerstone’s programs, schools are equipping their educators not only to meet professional standards, but to thrive as women of faith who shape the next generation.
