Cornerstone for Women Leaders Launches to Equip Women for Faith-Driven Leadership in the Workplace
Hagerstown, MD – Cornerstone for Women Leaders, a nonprofit organization based in Hagerstown, Maryland, officially launched in October 2023, introducing a new model for equipping women with the biblical foundation, knowledge, and skills to bridge the gap between their faith and vocation. Through high-quality leadership training and coaching, the organization prepares women to lead with a biblical worldview, and to demonstrate God’s purpose for their gifts and talents, in every sector.

Founded by nonprofit leader Shadae Paul, Cornerstone for Women Leaders offers on-campus courses, customized on-site training for organizations, and online professional development programs. Each skill-focused program integrates proven leadership principles with biblical truth, creating a distinctive approach that meets women where they are.
“Cornerstone was born out of a conviction that our work is an expression of our faith, not alongside it or separate from it. As the church, every vocation and our leadership in it, becomes a place where God is present, where our faith animates what we do, and where love, service, and care for others are expressed through our work,” said Shadae Paul, President & CEO. “Our mission is to equip women with the tools to understand their work in this light, reframing it as meaningful, God-given, and essential to building His Kingdom in the world.”

From the very beginning in the Garden of Eden, God designed work to be in direct alignment with Him. His intention was simple yet profound: God first, then man, then vocation so that through our work His purposes could be carried out on earth. Work was never meant to be separate from faith; it was designed as one of the primary ways we reflect God’s image, care for creation, and serve others.

The early church carried this understanding forward, seeing every role as an opportunity to live out the gospel. Later, during the Protestant Reformation, Martin Luther reminded Christians that all vocations, not only ministry, are sacred callings when done in faith. Cornerstone for Women Leaders takes up that same mandate today. Our training helps women see their work as God-given, meaningful, and essential to building His Kingdom, reframing leadership not as a pursuit of status, but as a faithful expression of service, impact, and love for neighbor.

Since its launch, Cornerstone for Women Leaders has expanded to serve diverse audiences through partnerships with higher education institutions, trades, nonprofits, and community organizations. The organization continues to build a strong foundation for growth, with a goal to reach more women regionally and nationally in the coming years.
