Legal Notice Regarding On-Campus Training

Cornerstone for Women Leaders partners with colleges and universities to offer leadership development courses that are rooted in ethical frameworks and values-based instruction. These courses are designed for educational purposes only and are open to all students regardless of gender, religion, or background.

In accordance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and guidance from the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR), these courses are not restricted based on sex and do not limit enrollment by gender. Cornerstone does not operate within any of the exceptions allowed for sex-separation in education (e.g., contact sports, choruses, or ability grouping in physical education) and fully supports equal access to all students.

Our instructional content draws from biblical principles of leadership and uses the Bible as a primary resource for discussion, but the courses are not religious instruction. They are not intended to proselytize, convert, or preach, and participation does not require any adherence to or agreement with religious beliefs. All students are welcome to engage with the material in a respectful, academic environment.

In compliance with the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment, and in line with both federal and Maryland state constitutional provisions:

  • No prayer, worship, or religious ritual will be conducted as part of classroom instruction.

  • No religious solicitation or proselytizing will occur during the course.

  • Biblical content is presented for its historical, ethical, and leadership relevance, not as a call to faith.

  • Instruction is delivered in a manner that serves secular educational goals, in accordance with constitutional boundaries between church and state.

Cornerstone for Women Leaders is committed to honoring students’ religious freedom, while also upholding the institutional neutrality required by public colleges and universities. Our courses are structured to respect the rights of all participants and the legal standards governing public education in the State of Maryland and the United States.
