Courtney Malengo is the Founder of Spark + Buzz Communications, an award-winning strategic communications consultancy that helps brands tell their stories, inspire audiences, and drive growth. With 23 years of experience as a communicator and marketing strategist, Courtney develops creative and integrated branding, marketing, and public relations solutions for clients across the country. Her strategic and actionable insights have contributed to business growth, increased brand recognition, and enhanced employee engagement for countless organizations. She has been featured in Entrepreneur, LegalZoom, Taboola, Thrive Global, and Authority Magazine, among others.

Courtney is also the Founder of The Spark Collective, a faith-based membership community supporting female founders throughout the DMV, and the creator of The Spark Summit, an annual retreat that brings faith-led female founders together to build relationships and explore the intersection of business and faith.

Education

Courtney holds a bachelor’s degree in English Writing from Eastern University in St. Davids, Pennsylvania, and a master’s degree in Communication and Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. She is accredited in public relations (APR) through the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and holds a certificate in wine marketing from UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education.

Courtney serves on the Board of Directors for the Gaithersburg Germantown Upcounty Chamber’s Community Foundation. She is also a member of Faith-Driven Entrepreneur, the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), LeadingAge Maryland, the Maryland Wineries Association, and the Gaithersburg Germantown Upcounty Chamber. In addition to her professional and community involvement, Courtney is passionate about encouraging fellow entrepreneurs and supporting breast cancer survivors.
