Sandra Hofmeister is the President and Owner of A&S Construction, LLC a Certified Woman Owned and Minority Owned Business. Sandra’s is an Accountant turned into Construction. She moved to Florida in 2006 where she worked in Accounting, and then she moved to Frederick in 2010, where she broke into the male-dominated industry of construction, working her way up from the administrative side to managing operations and overseeing production for a company over $10M of revenue a year, as the only Hispanic woman in that company.

 

Today, she is not only a successful construction company owner, but a force on the local business scene, serving on various committees like the Business Equity Coalition for the Frederick Chamber of Commerce, where she is also one of the Board of Directors and an Ambassador. She is the Immediate Past President of the Professional Women in Building for the Frederick County Building Industry Association and past liaison of their Board of Directors. She volunteers for the Community Foundation and was recently reappointed to the Affordable Housing Council of Frederick County and the City of Frederick. She is a member of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Panel of the City of Frederick and she is also a member of the Washington County Building Association, and Core member of the Frederick Women in Trades Group. She is also an esteemed Mentor with Woman-to-Woman Mentoring, a non-profit dedicated  to lift women in any field.

 

She has been recognized with the 2022 and 2023 Trades Person of the Year Award, and she is also one of the Top 50 EmPowered Leaders of Frederick County. She recently received the SHERO Awards 2025 as an example of service and resilience. She has been featured in Living Local DMV Morning TV show, 930 WFMD Free Talk radio and has been interviewed for the Baltimore Post Examiner, and Good Morning Frederick Podcast. She is the cover of the Home Edition 2024 of SASS Magazine among others.

 

When she is not working or serving the community, she enjoys watching documentaries or spending time with friends.
